Experiance and Requirements:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager and working alongside project management and other engineering colleagues this role carries responsibility for contibuting to the efficient start up and smooth running of an operation that will ultimately be processing, packaging and warehousing several hundreds of thousands of tonnes of finished product. There will be heavy accent on the introduction, development and continuance of lean manufactoring techniques coupled with significant workforce engagement and the injection of an involved, continuous improvement culture operating to the highest standards of Health, Safety, Quality and OEE. Ideal candidates will be trained engineers, educated to HNC or equivalent level, who have developed their career in production or maintenance engineering associated with bulk materials processing within world class manufactoring environments. Breadth of experiance will be advantageous together with a combination of hands-on machine knowledge, project planning and management experience. Previous involvement in start-up or major new investments will also be clearly relevant.

Production Team Leaders are responsible for being a leadership resource to team members, providing knowledge, experience, motivation, support and advice. Quality Techinician x3 - Ellesmere Port

We are reqruiting three Quality Technicians in Ellesmere Port; the roles. Working within the Techinical Team you will work on a rotating shift pattern. As Quality Technician you will be responsible for the day to day monitoring of raw material and process quality; validating that all product leaving the site meets the expecations of our customers. You will have experience of working within a manufacturing, heavy industry or testing environment.

Responsibilities

Quality Control

  • Auditing all test done on the shop floor by the production operatives
  • Validating the integrity of all tests done on Raw Materials and spot checking the materials
  • Ensuring the integrity of data generated and it is properly recorded  in a timely fashion
  • Performing tests which cannot be done at the point of work
  • Inspection of the working and storage area for raw materials and product defects
  • Monitor the Quarantine system and the Control of Non-Conforming product to ensure that is working effectively
  • Collect retained raw material and product samples and ensure that they are stored in an easily retrievable amnner and that out of date samples are disposed of
  • Collating data for a weekly report and submitting the report

Qualifications/Education

  • GCSE qualification in English and Mathematics or can demonstrate a good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Computer qualification such as ECDL or can demonstrate computer literacy

Multi-Skilled Operative - Supply chain Department

 An opportunity has arisen for a driven, ambitious and experienced Multi-Skilled Operative in the Supply Chain Department at our flagship site in Ellesmere Port. The successful candidate will report to the Materials Co-ordinator.

This is primarily a day's position; 8:00 am to 4:00 pm but applicants must be prepared to be flexible and work on a rotating shift pattern, including nights if necessary.

Principal Accountabilities

Stock Control

  •  Manual paperwork trail of stock moved
  • Moving raw materials and film into production
  • Kiting works orders as required
  • Counting stock as required
  • Keeping unit a very tidy and controlled environment

Taking Deliveries 

  • Unloading of vehicles
  • Checking deliveries against paperwork
  • Putting deliveries away in an ordly manner in the unit
  • Storing and returning equiptment for other departments
  • Taking in deliveries from couriers and delivering to other parts of site as required

Baling

  • Collecting of bags of polythene and paper
  • Filing and baling of polythene etc. after full training
  • Any other duties as assigned (assisting marketing occasionally)

Position - Mechanical Technician, Ellesmere Port

Hours of work - Monday to Friday, 8:00 - 17:00

Experience:

At least 8 years post apprenticeship experience in a bulk raw material processing and conveying environment in a maintenance position. Experience of working with mobile plant, Loadalls, fork lifts, loaders etc. Practival Knowledge of transmission components such as gearboxes, shafts, chain/belt drives, bearing inspection and replacement etc. Very good working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics on baling, compaction and palletising plant. Good level of fabrication and repair work using MIG / stick. Experience of working to planned maintenance schedules.

Mechanical Gradute Engineer

William Sinclair Horticulture Ltd is seeking to recruit a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to initially populate, develop and implement a site wide Computerised Maintenence Management System (CMMS) over a 12 month period. On completion of this excerise the Engineer will move to a Production Engineer role utilising the plant knowledge gained during the above excerise. The position will report to the Engineering Manager.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degrree in Mechanical Engineering with a sound knowledge of bulk processing and conveying systems. Some experience of Project Management in a manufacturing environment. Experience of planned and predictive maintenance on rotating plant.

The Role:

  • Population of Pirana CMMS with all site assets and O+M manual planned maintenance schedules
  • Assign electronice documentation including tech specs, risk assessments, SOP's etc.
  • Set up KPI's and report on performance metrics
  • Develop and install actual resource hours per task
  • Ensure maintenance routes and schedules are optimised for downtime and man hours 
  • Assign cost centres and codes
  • Set up BOM's for maintenance tasks
  • Generate training documentation, implement training
  • Roll out CMMS and further develop.

On completion of Pirana CMMS (expected 12 months) the emphasis will be on Production Engineering utilising knowledge gained during the Pirana implementation. Expected work types will be:

  • Continuous Improvement projects
  • Drive a culture change towards lean Manufacturing
  • Small scale Mechanical and electrical project management
  • Improvements in machine efficiencies and outputs

 Management and Reporting Accountant

A vacancy has arisen for a Management & Reporting Accountant.

Reporting to the financial controller, the successful candidate will manage a team of 2 and have specific responsibility for:

  • Preperation of accurate and timely month end management accounts
  • Preperation and development of daily, weekly and monthly reports to report performance and identify key trends
  • Managing the monthly forecast process and the annual budget process
  • Support the development of our new site at Ellesmere Port to develop financial and operational reports for the site and to gain a thorough understanding of the cost base and ensure forecasts and budgets are realistically developed
  • Liaising with budget holders / department heads to discuss and interpret financial results and ensure budgets and forecasts are robust and realistic through effective challenge
  • Control capital expenditure through preparation of capital investment appraisals, monitoring actual vs. authorised expenditure and performing post implementation reviews
  • Liaising with auditors at year end and preparation of tax packs

Applicants should be confident with excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate effectively at all levels. Candidates will be CIMA (or similar) qualified or in the final stages of qualification. Excellent excel skills, data manipulation skills and experience of working with mainframe accounting systems is preferred. Experience of working in a manufacturing business would be an advantage.
