Yard Utility - Ellesmere Port

We are seeking to appoint a Yard Utility to join the operations team at Ellesmere Port. The yard person will report to the Heath, Safety and Environmental Co-ordinator on site.

Hours of work

This is a hourly paid position and the hours of work will be 37.5 per week, typically 8am to 4pm but flexibility will be required.

Primary Objective of the role

To be responsible for the house keeping of site yards. Escalation of maintenance and health, safety and environmental concerns to the relevant personnel. To work in a safe manner in accorance with William Sinclair Horticulture policies and procedures.

Primary Duties:

  • Operating the road sweeping plant
  • Monitoring of stock pile locations
  • Cleaning the yard and general housekeeping
  • Stock control
  • Monitor on site skips ensuring materials are correctly disposed of
  • Use of appropriate skips to maximise recycling possibilities
  • Condusting perimeter inspections of waste pallet locations
  • Identification, inspection and reporting of concrete damage to site yard surfaces
  • Off site deliveries and collections
  • Manual handling

Essential Requirements

  •  Full UK Driving Licence
  • Experiance is a similar role
  • Awareness and knowledge of health and safety and adherence to safe working practises
  • Proven experiance of team working

Preferable Skills / Experiance

  •  Fork lift truck licence

Rate of pay

£7.50 per hour, weekly paid.

Production Engineer, Ellesmere Port

Position - Porduction Engineer x1 - permanent

Hours of Work - Monday to Friday, 8:00 - 17:00

Salary -  This is a salaried role and will be discussed on application.

Experiance and Requirements:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager and working alongside project management and other engineering colleagues this role carries responsibility for contibuting to the efficient start up and smooth running of an operation that will ultimately be processing, packaging and warehousing several hundreds of thousands of tonnes of finished product. There will be heavy accent on the introduction, development and continuance of lean manufactoring techniques coupled with significant workforce engagement and the injection of an involved, continuous improvement culture operating to the highest standards of Health, Safety, Quality and OEE. Ideal candidates will be trained engineers, educated to HNC or equivalent level, who have developed their career in production or maintenance engineering associated with bulk materials processing within world class manufactoring environments. Breadth of experiance will be advantageous together with a combination of hands-on machine knowledge, project planning and management experience. Previous involvement in start-up or major new investments will also be clearly relevant.

HNC Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent

 Production Team Leader Vacancy - Ellesmere Port (Growing Media)

Production Team Leaders are responsible for being a leadership resource to team members, providing knowledge, experience, motivation, support and advice. They will follow high standards of Health and Safety and housekeeping, ensuring their team does the same. They will be responsible for knowing and creating proper procedures for their team, and they will ensure that these procedures are followed. They will contribute and share ideas on how to improve quality and efficiency of production. They will be hands on and lead by example. They will encourage team effort and supportive attitudes within their team. They will also support the other Production Teams and Team Leaders in ensuring a collaborative and cooperative culture within the entire organisation.

Hours of work

This is an hourly paid position and the hours of work will be 37.5 per week on rotating shifts, this will include night shifts.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Lead production team in manufacturing highest quality products on time, within budget and in an efficient & effective manner.
  • Develop and follow production plan.
  • Operate process equiptment and systems in accordance with operation procedures to maximise production.
  • Ensure production, distribution and quality targets are met.
  • Ensure there is complete commitment to continuous improvement within the team.
  • Carry ouy first line maintenance activities and basic problem solving.
  • Respond to unplanned stoppages and breakdowns in a timely manner.
  • Report promptly any breakdowns to Production Manager and Maintenance Team.
  • Ensure comprehensive records and logs are maintained.
  • Ensure effective handover at the change of shift.
  • Maintain effective communication with all colleagues at all levels.
  • Adopt a flexible working attitude to provide support across all departments to ensure team success.
  • Support and improve team performance by sharing knowledge and best practise.
  • Ensure the highest standards of housekeeping are met.

Health & Safety

  • Be a Health and Safety Champion
  • Inducting, training and mentoring production operatives
  • Ability to perform risk assessments when required
  • Accountable for ensuring team work safely and follow safety instructions
  • Ensure all H&S programmes are followed by production team
  • Responsible for safety checks on all equiptment operated throughout the production process
  • Ensure that their team members are supplied with appropriate PPE
  • Taking appropriate action when health & safety policy is breached
  • Responsible for reporting concerns & unsafe working practises/conditions and near miss incidents to Production Manager
  • Ensure immediate reporting of incidents.

Quality

  • Responsible for meeting quality assurance standards as set by industry programs, such as ISO.
  • Responsible for setting high standards to reach production goals, ensuring that higher quantities produced do not compromise quality.
  • Ensuring that any quality issues are reported promptly to the Production Manager and Quality Team.

Essential Requirements

  • Experiance in similar role in a production/manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience of working to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to lead team and be integral part of overall Production Team.
  • PC Literate.
  • Must be willing to work shifts.

Preferable Skills / Experiance

  • Fork Lift Truck Licence.
  • Basic knowledge of Lean Manufactoring Techniques.
  • Experiance of creating Standard Operating Procedures
  • IOSH Qualification or similar
  • Experiance of working within an ISO9001 organisation.

Working as part of a production team in the growing media production area, the T2 Multi-Skilled Operator is responsible for following standardised production systems assuring safety, quality and productivity.

Hours of work

 Basic working hours will be 37.5 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern.

Wages

Rate of pay will be £7.50; this may be increased to £8.10 dependant on performance. There will be a 12 week probationary period.
