Maintenance Fitter - Lincoln

We are recruiting for a full time position maintenance fitter. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and undertaking servicing of the manufacturing facility and its equipment at the Lincoln site, although working at other sites may be required.

Equipment to be maintained includes:

Storage hoppers, conveyor systems including belt and roller type, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, motor/gearbox assemblies, extraction systems (LEVs), automated bagging and packaging equipment, industrial vehicles including loading shovels.

The candidate will also be responsible for assisting the maintenance manager in the implementation of a full preventative maintenance programme, as well as supporting the completion of engineering projects and facility improvements.

Essential skills/knowledge:

  • NVQ level 3 apprenticeship in a mechanical engineering discipline
  • Pneumatic/hydraulic experience
  • Fort lift truck licence (internal training will be provided)
  • Experience working within PPM/TPM systems
  • Fabrication/welding experience
  • Knowledge and experience of automated bagging and packaging machinery
  • Knowledge and experience of conveyor systems
  • Ability to read engineering and technical drawings
  • Proficient with relevant health and safety regulations (including PUWER, LOLER, Abrasives, wheels, working at height, permits to work)
  • Must be proactive and able to work as part of a team or unsupervised
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to undertake root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
  • Undertake routine maintenance and complete maintenance records (including part requests)
  • Undertaking and assisting with risk assessments.

Desirable knowledge:

  • Understanding of electrical systems and basic fault finding
  • Knowledge of PLC systems
  • Safety qualifications - IOSH, NEBOSH or similar
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft office programmes
  • FMCG experience

Multi-Skilled Operative - Ellesmere Port

An opportunity has arisen for two driven and ambitious multi-skilled operatives with valid and current fork lift truck licenses at our new flagship factory in Ellesmere Port. These roles are full time and permanent.

Reporting to the logistics manager you will work within a team on a rotating shift pattern.

You will have experience within a production/warehousing environment. You will have proven team playing skills and good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Quality Technicians x 2 - Ellesmere Port

We are recruiting two quality technicians at our site in Ellesmere Port. The roles are full time and permanent. Working within the technical team you will work on a rotating shift pattern. As quality technician you will be responsible for the day-to-day monitoring of raw material and process quality, validating that all product leaving the site meets the expectations of our customers. You will have experience of working within a manufacturing, heavy industry or testing environment.

Responsibilities

Quality Control

  • Auditing all tests done on the shop floor by the production operatives.
  • Validating the integrity of data generated and that it is properly recorded in a timely fashion.
  • Performing tests which cannot be done at the point of work.
  • Inspection of the working and storage area for raw material and product defects.
  • Monitoring the quarantine system and the control of non-conforming product to ensure that it is working effectively.
  • Collating retained raw material and product samples and ensuring they are stored in an easily retrievable manner and that out of date samples are disposed of.
  • Collating data for a weekly report and submitting the report.

Qualifications/Education

  • GSCE qualification in English and Mathematics or can demonstrate a good standard of literacy and numeracy.
  • Computer qualification such as ECDL or can demonstrate computer literacy.

Production Team Leader - Ellesmere Port

Production team leaders are responsible for being a leadership resource to team members, providing knowledge, experience, motivation, support and advice. They will follow high standards of Health & Safety and housekeeping, ensuring their team does the same. they will be responsible for knowing and creating proper procedures for their team, and they will ensure these procedures are followed. They will contribute and share ideas on how to improve quality and efficiency of production. They will be hands-on and lead by example. They will encourage team effort and supportive attitudes within their team. They will also support the other production teams and team leaders in ensuring a collaborative and co-operative culture with the entire organisation.

Hours of Work

This is a salaried position and the hours of work will be 37.5 per week. Team leaders may be required to work shifts, this includes a night shift and occasional weekends.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Lead production team in manufacturing highest quality products on time, within budget and in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Develop and follow the production plan.
  • Operate process equipment and systems in accordance with operating procedures to maximise production.
  • Ensure production, distribution and quality targets are met.
  • Ensure there is complete commitment to continuous improvement within the team.
  • Carry our first line maintenance activities and basic problem solving.
  • Respond to unplanned stoppages and breakdowns in a timely manner.
  • Report promptly any breakdowns to the production manager and maintenance team.
  • Ensure comprehensive records and logs are maintained,.
  • Ensure effective handover at the change of shift.
  • Maintain effective communication with all colleagues art all levels.
  • Adopt a flexible working attitude to provide support across all department to ensure team success.
  • Support and improve team performance by sharing knowledge and best practise.
  • Ensure the highest standards of housekeeping are met.

Health & Safety

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in a similar role in a production/manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience of working to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to lead team and be an integral part of the overall production team.
  • PC literate.
  • Must be willing to work shifts.

Preferable Skills / Experience

  • Fork lift truck licence.
  • Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Techniques.
  • Experience of creating Standard Operating Procedures.
  • IOSH qualification or similar.
  • Experience of working within an ISO 9001 organisation.

Multi-Skilled Operative (Stores)

Job Purpose

Working as part of the stores team, the multi-skilled operative is responsible for the kitting of packaging and chemicals fro the production units on site and the return of unused items to store.

Principal Accountabilities

  • To check and receive materials into the stores area.
  • To locate the materials into the relevant storage areas.
  • To update and maintain records for all materials.
  • To pick and allocate the store material to production in line with stock requisitions.
  • To maintain stock records in line with these requisitions.
  • To receive back into stores any materials not used by production and return to relevant stock locations.
  • To update stock records in line with these returns.

Health & Safety

  • Accountable for working safely and following safety instructions as per site induction.
  • Responsible for reporting concerns/unsafe working practises and near miss incidents to the team leader.
  • Immediate reporting of accident and injury.

Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar role in a production/manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience of working to standard operating procedures.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Team working and initiative.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Fork lift truck licence essential.
