Insulated lightweight concrete, horticultural applications, absorbent carrier, packaging, firebase embers, pipe and duct insulation, loose pour aggregate, slow release agent, perfumes, backfill for firebacks and boilers. |

Chemical Properties |
Vermiculite V3 is an aluminium iron silicate. Typical composition is:
* pH 7-10, but owing to the presence of associated carbonate rock impurities the reaction is normally alkaline. |

Physical Properties |
Exfoliated Vermiculite V3 is golden brown granule in plate-like layers of a concertina appearance.

Grading Specifications |
The bulk density is 70-90 kg/m3 at the bagging head. However, a 10-15% increase in density should be allowed for in normal storage, handling and transport.

Packaging |
Vermiculite V3 is normally supplied in plastic sacks containing 100 litres (approximately 3.5ft3). Alternative packaging is available to order. |

Health and Safety |
Exfoliated Vermiculite V3 is a heat-processed, inorganic material and since no chemical changes occur it is considered non-reportable. It is also fibre-free, conpletely non-irritant, an inert, incombustible, non-abrasive, rot-proof, odouless, clean to handle and without the slighest danger to face of hands. However, as with all fine materials, inhalation of dust should be avoided. |
