House and Conservatory Plants - May
-
Keep feeding amaryllis plants – the leaves will stay green for another couple of months.

-
Moth orchids (phaelenopsis) don’t need repotting every year but those in tiny pots are likely to need repotting after they have flowered twice. Water the plant a couple of days before repotting. Use transparent orchid pots and half fill with J Arthur Bower’s Orchid Compost. Rest the plant on the surface of the compost and spread out its roots. Trickle compost in between the roots leaving one or two uncovered. Allow to rest for a couple of weeks before watering. When watering, use tepid rainwater if possible and allow it to drain through completely. Water once a week during the summer when new growth is being made.
