Keeping plants moist and protecting them from intense heat will be priorities this month. Paint shading onto greenhouse glass, and mist plants as well as watering regularly. You can boost the humidity of your greenhouse by spraying the floor with water each morning. Keeping the atmosphere moist will help to keep red spider mite at bay.

To keep displays of Fuchsias and Pelargoniums looking good, remove faded flowers regularly and feed once a week with J Arthur Bower’s Tub & Basket Liquid Plant Food or New Horizon Liquid Tomato Food.

There’s still time to plant up grow bags. For organic and peat-free growing choose the New Horizon Grow Bag. Tall and thirsty crops will do best in the J Arthur Bower’s Planter, which has extra depth of compost. If space is at a premium the traditional J Arthur Bower’s Grow Bag will be your best buy. As well as tomatoes, grow bags can be used for cucumbers, aubergines and peppers. Keep them well-watered and feed once a week with J Arthur Bower’s or New Horizon Liquid Tomato Food as soon as the first fruits appear.
