• Continue to dead-head winter-flowering bedding plants.

• You may need to water patio pots, particularly those containing large plants where the foliage prevents rain getting to the roots. It’s best to water in the mornings.

• Start planning now for summer planting schemes. You can find lots of ideas in seed catalogues and gardening magazines.
