Soft Fruit Fertilisers
Sangral and Sangral Select soluble fertilisers can be used to feed soft fruits grown in substrates in modules, troughs, buckets and also field-grown crops.
Two ranges of Sangral soluble fertiliser are available: Sangral is a non-acidifying fertiliser whilst Sangral Select is acidifying and will remove temporary hardness (bicarbonate) from irrigation water.
Strawberries |
Fertigation of strawberries using trickle irrigation enables both water and feed to be applied regularly and accurately to the crop with minimum wastage. Sinclair has a range of products that suit both hard and soft water and programmes can be tailored to crop requirements with the aid of water analysis. For soil-grown crops, nutrient requirements for each season will depend on the soil texture, variety and system used. Light soils tend to be low in nitrogen and potash, whereas loam and heavier soils are ususally well supplied with these nutrients. Cane and Bush Fruit |
Nutrient requirements for raspberries, taybereries, loganberries, blackberries, gooseberries and redcurrants should be based on the results of soil analysis, soil texture, variety, vigour, age and potential yield and it should be noted that blackcurrants require slightly higher amounts of nitrogen than other bush fruit. Long canes of raspberries planted in pots of peat-based growing medium can produce a crop within approximately 5 months of planting and crops can continue for approximately 3-4 years. Crops planted with basal fertiliser in the growing medium should be fed from about 2-3 weeks after bud break.
